Diamond
We started our list with probably the best-known gemstone: the diamond, and for good reason! It is the hardest and most resistant mineral found in nature and, consequently, one of the most valued and appreciated since the dawn of humanity. Diamonds have a special luster designed by their crystallized pure carbon property. Contrary to what many think, diamonds are not only colorless and can be found in a multitude of colors, involving brown, yellow, grey, red, pink, blue or green.
But after all, what makes the diamond so valued? For this, we must take into account the 4 c's:
- Its color;
- Its cutting and stoning, which should prioritize its brightness;
- Clarity or, if we wish, the purity of the stone;
- Carat: The more, the more valuable the stone
Nevertheless, did you know that most of the diamonds extracted today are not used in jewelry? That's that... its use is highly used for industrial purposes of cutting, drilling and polishing.
